Mishi Khan Criticizes Pakistani Dramas, Indian Films; Calls Kiara Advani's 'Tabaahi' Song 'Vulgar'

Pakistani actress and television host Mishi Khan has voiced concern over what she describes as the growing use of bold scenes in Pakistani television dramas, saying that content intended for family audiences is gradually changing. In a recent video shared on Instagram, she argued that inappropriate content is increasing across dramas, films, stage performances, and social media. She also warned that if the current trend continues, Pakistani dramas could feature more intimate scenes, stressing that the issue warrants broader public discussion because families commonly watch these dramas.

Mishi Khan said explicit content is becoming increasingly common in films and television. Referring to Kiara Advani’s recently released song Tabaahi, she described its visuals as overly provocative and said she was surprised by the actress’s performance, adding that Kiara is now married and a mother to a daughter. She questioned the direction in which entertainment content is heading.

The video also sparked discussion in the comments section, where many users expressed support for Mishi Khan’s views. One Instagram user, @hashirhere90, wrote that they “100% agreed” with her concerns, adding that such content should be stopped in Pakistan. The user also claimed they had stopped watching Pakistani dramas with their family because they no longer considered them suitable for family viewing, ending the comment with a prayer for Allah’s mercy.

Another Instagram user, @zille5094, also reacted to the video, alleging that such content is being produced for financial gain. The user commented in Urdu, “Dollars ke liye meri behen yeh sab kuch kar rahe,” suggesting that commercial interests are driving the changing nature of entertainment content.

Not all reactions focused on the issue itself. One Instagram user, @shaheerkhan9861, praised Mishi Khan for speaking her mind and wrote that they would like to see her appear on the reality show Tamasha, describing her as an outspoken personality and a “boss lady.”

In her video, Mishi Khan also emphasized that Pakistani television dramas have traditionally been regarded as family entertainment and are often watched by parents and children together. She argued that this is why drama producers should be more mindful of the content they present, adding that once uncommon scenes are now becoming increasingly frequent. While her remarks resonated with many social media users, others offered differing opinions, turning the discussion into a broader debate over changing content standards in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
